<p>Calciumsulfit kann wie <a href="Calciumhydrogensulfit" title="Calciumhydrogensulfit">Calciumhydrogensulfit</a> durch Einwirkung von <a href="Schwefeldioxid" title="Schwefeldioxid">Schwefeldioxid</a> auf in Wasser gelöstes <a href="Calciumcarbonat" title="Calciumcarbonat">Calciumcarbonat</a> oder <a href="Calciumlauge" class="mw-redirect" title="Calciumlauge">Calciumlauge</a> gewonnen werden (<a href="Kalkwasserprobe" title="Kalkwasserprobe">Kalkwasserprobe</a>). Die Lösung wird anschließend durch Trocknen oder Eindampfen in Kristalle überführt.
